Site intro and history

This site is unique in that it only one of two sites (I know of) dedicated to Superheroine Peril that is run and and produced by it’s star character. Vesta shows she really is a superheroine by pulling together a wide range of talent to produce a Super site.

Vesta grew up reading comic books and is a self described “comic geek” who still picks up copies even today, she collects action figures, statues, and even attends comic conventions when she can. As with many interested in this genre she has always enjoyed damsel in distress scenarios and the oft accompanying ropes and gags. This interest led her into production of her first web site www.bondagedivas.com  that began in 1999.  Which was where she played out her damsel in distress fantasies. It was then she discovered www.sooperhero.com and joined it and in 2002. Inspired, she soon started www.boundcomics.com. At first it was mostly about wearing the costumes with little concern about the stories. She decided she wanted to create her own live comic universe around her love of superheroines, peril, and the comic realm. The result of this became www.leagueofamazingwomen.com. Staring as American Avenger (since then others both good and bad) Vesta’s adventure world is set in the fictional city of Tiedsville which is a city in Florida, the state she actually lives in. It is interesting that this fictional city actually turns up as many or more google hits than many small towns in Florida.  Vesta's own little comic world of L.A.W. has not only seen her bring her fantasies to life in live action peril but has also seen her become a comic book heroine like the ones she enjoyed as a kid, through site’s own comic books.

When asked if she could put into words her interest in the genre and in being an internet heroine Vesta says "I love the idea of being super powered, Im not 100% sure why but I enjoy the idea of having the power only to have it taken away by being defeated...then I love being left helpless, I have always found the internet the perfect place to explore this through role playing, where you can be much more explicit and in real cos-play as well... Again its hard to say but i really enjoy wearing my costumes and wrestling around with the other girls" I'm sure most guys are giving two thumbs up to that interest.

In describing how she decides on the format and content of her stories / photo sets she explained, "A lot of this was done by trial and error at first I just put on the costumes and got tied up... then I started adding other characters and what not. Now I've gone full circle in that now I do try and plan out a story. I try and keep it simple and just get to the point so to speak, ie the fight and the victory. I do this both in pics and video. Being in the work as well does make me often slant it to my likes but I do try and remember I have other members LOL. As the site has gotten older I spend more time now trying to find the best actresses I can. I have also added artwork both poser and regular art to make comics where I can explore the characters powers like flight and such. I use a variety of artists to try and give a lot of different looks. We are working hard on character bios and what not as well. With the goal of making Tiedsville a fun place to spend your money.

Vesta is also organizes a Fetish Con and explains more about this endeavor.  "My partner Genesis Lynn and I have been running a fetish con this being our 9th year www.fetishcon.com One of the big benefits to running it is I have created a superheroine show that is evolving. This years will be the third and its a lot of fun.  Baddies and goodies get on stage from all the different sites (the ones that want to anyway) and we make a little show for the fans, George Perez (DC COMIC Fame) always MC's it and I think it brings a lot of good exposure to the fetish.

Finally in explaining the work behind getting her site up and keeping it going she says all this proved a bit harder then she expected with things like good continuity and such being much harder to do then she ever imagined. Maybe so but this heroine has overcome to bring fans a great site.

The L.A.W site is packed full of more offerings and extras than the vast majority of sites. Photo sets introduced by a story summary, full length photo story sets, comics, videos, I pod videos, yahoo message board, character bios page, unique photo set search format and even a fan calendar! I’m not a comic fan so I don’t critique comics or poser art but I have to say she has some “should be sold in stores” quality comics on her site from various genre artists like Rifferus. I’ve been even less of a poser art fan, I find it off and clumsy looking but when I saw her latest contributor from Deviant Art I’m giving the style another look. Her set from Posehobbit09 is simply awesome! The layout format of the site are unique and very enjoyable to peruse. There are a few small nit-picky things I found like the main page sidebar menu being a bit long to the point of appearing to cluttered. Areas like “Videos” could use some sub-menus to shorten the main list but. The menu is slightly inconsistent with “LAW MESSAGE BOARD” showing as a dead link option when viewing certain pages like the links page. But overall it’s a well laid out and good looking website, for this aspect I give L.A.W. full marks. Now to the meat of the sites offerings and their quality. L.A.W uses a lot of different models (around 100?) with many of them regulars and some well known names in the bondage scene like Stacy Burke and Paris Kennedy. A number of her models are nominated for bondage awards. They really run the gambit from average to very nice and nearly all seem to be able to show nice believable expression in their shots. The wardrobe is extremely plentiful and itself runs from average to quite above average. The sheer selection and often creativity outweighs the few average ones to gives L.A.W.’s wardrobe top marks as well. Locations revolve mostly around a house and in some cases even rather sterile (All pure white) hallways making some not the most original, but to their credit they do mix them around rather than keeping them all in one or two rooms. They make good use of props, which mostly center around bondage gear, cuffs, ropes, various gags, and even shrink-wrap along with pretty much anything you could conceivably tie someone to in a house. The photography, contrary to what Vesta insinuated is done well. All are well lit with only a few I saw showing more need for sharpness that does not distract from the viewing anyhow. Composition is average but becomes above average in the bondage shots, showing Vesta’s experience from her bondage site coming out. The creativity level of this sites sets is very good and well thought out. It gets hard after this many years to come up with new stuff but for the most part Vesta manages to pull it out. While there is nudity in the sets the heroines tend to keep their clothes on, at least in part, for at least half of the pics. In this sense it maybe even be of interest to those who normally would not care for the more X rated material. With its strengths in its great breath in offerings, full archive, and creative photo story sets all packaged into a quality website.

I give this Boundcomics.com 4 out of 5 capes!
